I just buy it for the DVD these days. The mag is just a bonus.

The article is OK but I doubt you'll learn anything new, it's more an ad for British Off Road than anything.

Unfortunately, the story doesn't go into depth regarding the future stroking of the engine out to 2.8 (I assume it uses the Brazillian crank).

The video is good though. The second mag is an old one with a red 110 in it. He complains of lack of travel from the front end, he is running castor corrected bushes so that's the problem.

I wonder if the million km Defender is the one belonging to mac1308 mentioned here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...p-e-c-t-5.html

There is also Olfellas Disco TDI that is coming up to the 1 Million KM mark.

On the upside there is a bucketload more LR content in the mags and the DVD's ( should keep the old LR sooks appeased ). In terms for 4WD mags...bang for your buck for me they come out on top.

I get the mag....their new mag which I enjoy and a DVD for less than $10. Also in terms of more than 1 trip per DVD....don't forget it costs money to run a trip like they do......I think 1 trip is ample if you take into consideration the time and $$$ quotient.

Agreed but I d be happy for the trip part of the DVD to last longer and have more in depth coverage of say recovery situations or difficult water crossings etc. Makes for more exciting viewing IMHO.

When was the last time you watched one of the DVD's....most of the DVD is taken up with a trip and I find them pretty indepth with all you have mentioned above. Just watched one where Roothy's car crapped itself in Cruiser Canyon at LCMP and they had to get it out....crap of a recovery. Also another one recently in VIC high country where a young bloke in a Disco had rolled onto its roof and they came and recovered the bloke......made me poo myself at the thought of that sort of recovery. Best thing is that the DSS bloke with the 130 is in all the latest DVD's......he had his older 130 in the most recent DVD. Maybe we just have a different view on what is exciting but for me no qualms,

    Regards

Have to admit its probably nearly a year since I ve watched one. I did get turned off the mag for many of the reasons mentioned before but from what you're saying I ll probably give it another go even if it's just for the DVD.

Ah well there ya go . I've always enjoyed the DVD's....having a LR are in there as a regular is great. Plus there is a fair whack of LR's in the mag. Meh...I like 4WDing and camping...regardless of what one drives...so good to see any vehicle out there doing what it is built to do,

    Regards
