Evenin all

From Stockport, near Manchester & most of my family live in a 25 mile radius of Stockport. Moved to Wilmslow when I was 4 & stayed until 24, when I met my now wife when she was just finishing Uni in Liverpool. Since then, we've lived in Cardiff (her Phd), Luton & Northampton (working in Londinium village), north Herefordshire whilst we both worked in Hereford & Brecon, then back to a small town just west of Cardiff for 6 years before we moved out here 18 months ago. I consider myself a proud northern bloke, have little option but to support the mighty Man U

We'd never considered even coming to Oz on holiday because we could never get enough time off work to make the trip worthwhile, never mind moving here, until I came out to Sydney with work in 2008/9. That experience changed our minds, SWMBO came out for Christmas and we had a week in Margaret River with friends as well as the couple of weeks in Sydney. From then on, life changed for us. I ended up going back to the UK and working 300 miles from home (thanks to the GFC) and SWMBO's job was taking her all over Europe, the US and amazingly, to a small place on the other side of the world called Australia . 2010 was a turning point in our lives and we decided changes had to be made, we hardly saw each other so jobs nearer to where we actually lived were in order.

Fast forward to April 2011 and the factory SWMBO's been visiting in Melbourne decides they could do with her assistance full time to sort out the problems and help get them into the rest of the corporate business (large American multinational). Would we consider moving out here was the question ? Hmmm.....

We arrived October 2011 with the dog. House contents and her Triumph Spitfire arrived in December 2011 (1st car, bought it for her 16 years ago, had just finished a 4 year restoration of it so no way was it staying behind!) and then finally Tango (my RRS) arrived in March 2012, just in time for me starting my first job. So, our solution to working closer to where we lived was to move to the other side of the world. It worked though, we both now work less than 10k's from home

We've just started the PR process & consider Oz home already. We had to whizz back to the UK in August for a week and at the end of it, couldn't wait to get 'home' to Melbourne. We didn't think it would happen so quickly, but quite honestly all I missed of the UK was the trackdays I used to do and the speed limits

Family have pretty much all been here now and all realise why we moved. It's an awesome place & we've barely scratched the surface. Tango's going to see a lot more of this country as our travel 'companion' over the next few years that's for sure (why else would anyone bring an orange Range Rover Sport across the globe?)

Anyway, enough about me
