Why do Toyota owners bag LandRovers ?

Not really a fair comparison, the Cruiser appears slower on all attempts, even the last one when he finaly got over...

Whilst not arguing the point that the Rover may well be better, the gap between LR and the "Others" can be affected by (driver) training, timidity, tare, tyres and Inflation.:eek:

Besides, like it or not, you spend heaps more time/distance on the hard black stuff getting to and from the Bumpy Bits, so 'everyday reliability' has to be considered...:p:p:p

As one experienced LR owner confessed to me, his mate with his Pajero follows him everywhere, just a little slower, less elegantly less comfortably and maybe a bit more noise... but he gets there.:p

its not always like that.....at work yesterday during smoko we were discussing the merits of various mine site vehicles and we got to the old Land Rover/Toyota/Nissan thing and the guys unanimously agreed that the Defender is the ultimate off the shelf offroad vehicle.

I thought much the same about the second video. Different tyres, lines, experience, solid front axle vs. the Prado IFS., etc. can make all the difference.

Was that by guys who had owned (and maintained...) both ? Or just drove all brands of company cars at work?

To be fair, some months ago I took my 2WD Classic out onto the powerlines track, did around 30 minutes before I called it a day due to a dangerous fuel leak...
At no time did I need the front prop shaft re-installed...or shift out of Hi range. Guess that says something about Spencer-King's design philosophy:D.
