Click your username, look for "find all posts by (you).." or subscribe to your thread and find it on "quick links, subscribed threads".
I find the "quick links, today's posts" much better than the "new posts" button.![]()
I know this would have been asked.........but
When I start a new tread or post a reply the thread disappears until someone posts over it and then it appears in the new post section. However if I go to the page it was posted on such as 'introductions' or tech talk it's there and I can access it directly. Not sure if I've made myself clear. Please advise, anyone what I'm doing wrong!!!!
Cheers
Nino

they won't show up in the new posts section for you as the system decides that you have already read the post as you are the one that posted it. Once someone posts over the top there is an unread post for you so it appears in the new posts. For everyone else the post appears in the new posts as soon as you post it.
hope this make sense
cheers

Josh aka Sean is correct but I assume you are wondering where the post goes after you post it and until you can see it..
Luckily I have been doing my own research on this very thing...
When you hit the submit button it creates enough copies of your post to be sent and read by all users on AULRO and associated forums.
This is like a printer so takes a little time, be patient....
after a bit it will appear...
But "what", (I hear you ask) "happens to all the ones made for reading when no one reads the thread?"
Well, these little bits of digital information are eventually emitted from your computer as otherwise your computer would be all full up... as they leak out they float about in your house, office etc, this accounts for why you may be walking through the house and suddenly, randomly you start thinking about land rovers and associated things, you have just walked through a cloud of excess posts.
These float until the air is cleared by an item that stores the excess posts and stops them floating about.... a batch of wire coat hangers in the cupboard is estimated to be good enough to hold about 6tb of excess posts!
Its amazing,.
I hope this all helps.

Some of the posts seem to disappear because one of the Mods (probably Scouse or me) have moved them to where they should have been in the first place.
For digger's posts, I think that place is the waste paper bin!![]()

Thank you p38arover, but I prefer Dr diggers explanation! Only last night I was walking to the computer while Kerry was explaining all my failings when I suddenly felt as if i had walked into a cloud of peacefulness, and lowe and behold, all I could think of was land rovers. What else could it be?
May as well have a whinge on my 500th post.
I've wondered the same thing. Today. On my silly little Ozpig thread. If I wanted it in the camping section I would have put it there. Its been used daily for a month, not once yet while camping. {although to be fair it was bought for camping}
General Chat Almost anything goes, have a look and drop in a few lines. Think of it as a campfire chat with the kids around.
Well this is my little campfire at home.
If you need to be so pedantic, there are so many sub forums within AULRO practically every thread should be moved somewhere else.
Personally I only look at the general and 110 Defender sections and very occasionally the camping section. If a post got moved somewhere other than those I would probably not see it again.
Whinge over.
You moderators DO do a good job and we do appreciate it.

dont you know its illegal to have more than 3 wire coathangers in a cupboard?
have you seen what they do in there?
