Thread: Would you pass the driving test?

I got 29 / 30.
I failed the highbeams in the built up area.
I said they weren't allowed on.

What are the legalities of using High beams when there are street lights, I always thought you weren't to use them, but can not even find out where that information may have entered my head.
My assumption of built up area's having street lights may have cost me, or I could be completely and utterly wrong.

Since when are we allowed to take off our seatbelts to reverse?

Oh it's Queensland... I learnt to drive in the ACT.

Many years ago (in Queensland) streetlights indicated a built up area, ergo no high beams allowed. The law changed some time back, permitting high beam to be used in built up areas.
I recently did the theory tests for car, bike and heavy vehicles (see Qld Tpt site) and got one wrong, I lost something in the conversion from feet to metres.

29 out of 30, got the centre parking one wrong, didn't know just guessed yes with caution, I'm in NSW, most of the centre parking I've seen are in rural towns in NSW and they have been drive in reverse out, so you have no option but to reverse out.

built up area in Vic used to be in 60kph area or street lights.

removing seat belt to reverse was legal in vic.

regardless of what the rules say, no one follows the rules, you see it happen all the time. The other day I had just entered and intersection and it went amber, Cops were sitting in a van at the same intersection, a car behind me had plenty of time to stop, but put foot to the metal and went through the red light.
The cops were either blind or couldn't be bothers and did nothing about it.

Seriously doubt I could get a license nowadays, my eyes are stuffed.
I have a 'eyeglasses condition' on my Licence but wear contacts but when I get pulled over the cops have never asked wheres my glasses.

As far as I know its still legal to reverse without seat belts.

Hows this for driving skills , never had do a 3 point turn when I went for my Heavy Combo endorsement !!
