We also have a 2011 Wrangler unlimited. SWMBO likes it very much and it has been reliable and performed well over the last 12 months.
It has the older petrol motor which is not a rocketship but is adequate and reasonably frugal (11-12 l/100km)
Very competent off road out of the box
I find the ride a bit rough coming from a Disco 3 but I'm probably just a bit spoilt.
I would agree that dealers vary ( but so do Landrover ones)
Ours took at least 20,000KM before the engine was giving its best

Any questions I'm happy to help.

    Regards,
    Tote

free servicing doesn't apply in Aus and 2 year extended warranty, 5 year total, doesn't include the same level of cover as manufacturers warranty. Extended warranty it is underwritten by an insurance agency who is taking the risk of anything going wrong within the additional 2 years, up to a certain value, on very specific items only.

The JK has had 8 recalls in Australia alone (since it's release, not MY12). note recalls only, not including the many "courtesy" Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's Project-JK.com - Jeep JK Wrangler Resource ยป Jeep JK TSB & Recalls ) that are essentially mandatory if you need to resolve any of these well known issues, of which you have to notify the dealer to have them "considered" to be carried out. if the owner does not notice, then it doesn't get done unless it is a recall.

not exactly a great service model even if it was free

thanks for the replys guys. I think I will wait out a bit longer, I am having second thoughts on leaving the 130. The way my car is set up now is great off road and I own it. I am just crying because I want some thing a bit easier around the city and quieter.

I just need to quieten mine down a bit and fit central locking and I will be happy for another 6mths
