I recently drove a 2001 Discovery that Whyatt's use as a courtesy car
Cant remember the exact mileage but it was around 320000 km
Still ran perfectly and it hasn't had its head done yet
61000kms on my 2006 defender. It has exhaust, chip, cooler, remap ect and has had it all from new.
It's about to go in for a major service on Monday as its long overduehoping to get as many as I can out of her.

200'000 km on my 2001 D2....Still going good. no smoke etc. Just the usual suspects ie. FPR, Fuel pump, water pump, oil in harness, stater motor contacts etc....
My 2002 (EU3) TD5 has done 218000, the head hasn't been off. Changed the injector loom twice, replaced the FPR and removed the EGR. Thats all that has been done to the engine.
I've been pulling apart a 2000 TD5 that had done 232000km - the head on that had been replaced, it ran very smoothly. Going to list it for sale soon as a long motor. (When you look into it closely there are too many differences between that and an EU3 engine to keep it as a spare.)
Hello,
My TD5 done 200,000ks FPR 3 times leaking again now, injection harness 2 times, Harmonic Balancer blew apart, just the normal stuff.
Goes great looking at a few more mods pretty soon. Uses no oil a little smoke due to the remap.

Opps !! to many beeeeers it is a 2004 Classic brought it when it had 60,000ks 4 years ago.
Don't hate me!

1999 Disco 2, over 300,000Km and the head has been off, many hoses replaced, radiator replaced, Harmonic Balancer replaced, Resivoir cap replaced (courtesy of dog trying to eat the last one), injector seals replaced, head gasket replaced, glow plugs replaced, fuel pump replaced, left hand headlight replaced (courtesy of a stupid magpie) oil cooler due to be replaced and yes it is serviced regularly. Note to self never buy a 1999 TD5 again. At least it doesn't smoke. Any earlier in the year it would be a Disco 1.
1999 TD5, 348,149 kms, stock standard, original ECU, no chip, no engine work. [ plenty of hoses, & other bits & pieces replaced] Regular service is the key. Bob [mandatory oil leaks ]
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
