Blknight's solution to the escape was good, but we had it harder in Africa. There was no mirror and you had to get away once you'd climbed out the hole. So what's the African solution?

hit the wall till your fingers are sore

use the sore to cut throught the table in half

put the table back together, two halves make a whole

climb out the whole and run away.
