Any one good in chemistry?

H2O and HHO arent the same thing... (welll they should be but IMHO its part of how they write it up so it sounds good)

the first is water, HHO (as its written and known as browns gas) is just a mix of hydrogen and oxygen thats waiting to recombine back into water. A more accurate way of writing it would be 2H O you will also see it written as HOH.

The main distinction seems to be that when they write it without the subscript 2 in the combination of letters they are talking about a mixture of individual gasses and when they write it with the subscript 2 its water in either its gaseous state or liquid state.

How I see it is that in the first instance Dave (Blknight) is right. And there is no doubt that injection of the gas mixture into an appropriately tuned engine will increase the power output. However, it would take more energy (power if you like) to generate the gas mixture than is gained by recombining the gases (combusting it if you like) back to water. Otherwise you have the basis for a perpetual motion machine.

ahhh perpetual motion.....if you combined all the gimmicks that propose to make your vehicle run faster, smoother, further,quieter, more efficient,better lubrication,etc you'd have a perpetual motion machine. Hmmmm what would YOU fit first? a hi-clone maybe?

how much water does this machine use/hold? a simple molar calculation should settle it once and for all

actually on second thought, stuff the moles, how do they suggest these atoms are bonded together?

The H and O gases come form water which is split apart using electricity, electricity created by the engine's alternator.

From what I've read, it's not meant to be a perpetual motion machine, it's not claiming that the energy you get from burning the H and O is greater than the energy it takes to split up the water. That would be too easy to debunk.

The claim is that by combining the H and O with the petrol/diesel, it makes the petrol/diesel burn more effectively, makes it more efficient. As was also posted here, water injection supposedly works in the same way.

I've never used either, and don't claim to know if injecting HHO in with the diesel or petrol makes the engine more efficient or not, nor whether the energy used to split the water is greater or less than the efficiencies gained.

Not sure about the intercooler bit. If it really is splittling H2O into H2 and O2 gases, cooling them in the intercooler isn't going to cause them to condense, it's still too warm. Perhaps the system just doesn't work on modern motors. Could be that it works on older, worn motors simply because it boosts the compression up a little or because any love and attention will get an improvement out of them.

As for water injection. It's been around forever. World War 1 fighter pilots used it. Injecting water into a hot cylinder caused it to turn to steam and deliver more power than petrol for a short period of time (until the block cooled down). No technological marvel here just basic physics.

Just for a trick I showed a bloke how much more fuel his vehicle used idling, with the headlights on, compared to headlamps off. You can do this simply by reading injector pulse times. Electrical energy from the alternator is NOT free, as some people assume. You could possibly make a case for running the hoho cell off a fully charged battery you carry around, recharging it at home. But it would probably be more efficient to leave the weighty battery home. A couple of solar panels perhaps?

Probably the best and most effective fuel economy gain is from leaving home all the junk you accumulate in the back.:D
