Hey Murray you werent with about 5 defenders were you one of which was on NSW????
we passed a load stopped at a junction they were looking at something. a building or something two of the defenders were paked on the opposite side of the rd. the other three packed outside the building one of them was a puma i think may of been grey

Nope - must have been another group as we had no NSW plates or Puma's in ours.
We were 4 Isuzu Counties, a 110, a 90, and 3 D2's.
Saw a few other Landys up there, but no-one that admitted being on Aulro...
Was a great trip
Here's one of the Isuzu Counties at Nolans Brook. "Making it look easy" was the comment from a non LR bystander

Good to see you back
Nice sounding brakes on the vids
gee SteveG did any of the non landy on lookers follow.
Having drowned one car already that pics makes me nervous. Apart from a bra my other solution for the Tdci is a rear locker, or not do it. It's a long way to go to turn around, and killing cars by unfortunately stopping is no good.
I have been told its not the depth of water, rather what tyre perusers you have. Would that be a fair call?

I was up there in 2009, the HiLux in front of us got stuck and filled up with water.
Our group took the time to drop the Tyres right down and all five vehicles went through no problems.
So when I get up there in about a week or so, down with tyres pressures for sure.
I'm definitely no expert in this area, but we all had rear lockers (mine is a detroit so not selectable anyway) and Murray was sure that tyre pressures were the most important factor. I had M/T's and ran 20psi, but after doing a bit more research since returning I'd probably run lower if I did it again as you only get one shot at it. I think a lot of people (including myself at the time) don't think about it essentially being a very soft sandy bottom after its been churned by lots of vehicles. After all, you wouldn't consider driving soft sand on a beach at 30psi, but I'm sure a lot of people ran those sort of pressures for Nolans.
We watched a few other vehicles go through before we did it, and a Hilux and camper drowned. I'd definitely be more hesitant if I was running something with an electronic brain.
