12v Compressor Recommendations ?

Yes - I think there have been a few sucked in like that. I bought mine knowing it was different, but some of my mates refer to it as an ARB. Not sure really how they get away with it - must be legal, as I'm sure ARB would have done something about it if they could.

I have the brother of the Blue tongue compressor by Thomas, a Big Red, that's all Thomas do, make compressors.

I've had a bushranger power air since 2006 that i use and lend too my mates all the time its been on heaps of trips and never failed once. not real fast but just keeps going and it was under $200

Really appreciate all this feedback. Not enough time and cash to get a new on my tomorrow before my holiday. But using this info to get one when I get back.

I tried my broken $40 Aldi one again last night and it worked again! That said it blew a few fuses in the car last time.

Could i use it next week when away by taking off the 12v cigi lighter and connecting to the battery?

Just a stop gap!

X2 use it a heap all metal internal components whereas cheaper models are plastic and always does what I need it to.

I got my KCI in a 4WD Action subsciption deal about 3 years ago and it has been fine, only had to replace one fuse. Works very well - actually I miscalculated blowing up a wheelbarrow tyre and made it explode!:eek:
So that's not a comparison, but a tick from me anyway.

Yes, connect straight to the battery, that's the best thing you can do. It'll be overdrawing through a cig lighter socket if it doesn't blow a fuse it will melt the plug or something worse!
