Ouch!!! You know that you shouldn't say that as it just doesn't happen so say some.Quote:
Did see a few very nice Landcruisers on the back of some recovery trucks however :)
My D1 V8 has been trouble free all year.
Does that balance out the fact that my D2a TD5 blew a piston in January (after only 135,000kms), a few months and $14,500 later I had a brand new engine. 1,200kms later, strange noises = cracked head and 3rd engine is being fitted (thankfully at LR's expense, not mine).
Not really issues, just part of life's rich tapestry.
Mine doesn't get driven so it doesn't have problems. It sits in the back yard most of the time (this is the reason I didn't upgrade to an L322 - it wouldn't get driven enough). I just have to remember to keep the batteries charged.
Miines been great has not been out of the shed in 6 months
I know I'll probably regret this.....but our D1 300 TDI coming up to 290000 & only thing done to it except for normal wear & tear is an upgraded transfer case housing. It's taken us all over Oz including the Gibb, Gunbarrel, Simpson, Vic High Country etc etc without a complaint. So there, I've said it.:o (Have I just doomed myself to eternal mechanical hell?)
In the last 5 years of ownership, apart from airbags and shocks and requiring a new manifold stud, my D2 has been fantastically reliable. Went to Sydney and back (1600kms) in under 24 hours weekend before last to pick up a motorbike with a trailer and she didn't miss a beat! 110-120 the whole way. I'm a little less concerned than others about weeping oil seals though :D (diff, sump, etc)
You guys are tempting fate:eek:
I hope you all had your fingers crossed or were touching some serious wood:D
The bad mojo fairy is gunna open a new thread on this forum for each one of you ...."I need help with this broken thingy etc".....
Didn't your mums teach you not to tempt fate, put the mockers on you or any of the many other versions around?:D
I suspect there are many more of us out there that enjoying good times but are just not as silly to say it out loud....:p:p:p
Cheers guys
Sounds like this D3 owner has been less fortunate :o
