I do understand how these arrangements work Rick & then they expect you to work Miracles to get back online 'cos the tenants are moaning.:rocket::rocket:
Was that on your olde friend CLINT or are the images arse about?

Oh, you remember Des! [emoji23]
I have two newer ones I sometimes have to deal with now, too. [emoji52]
I kicked the last one back to the installers, suggesting to the client in an email, and later backed by my boss, that they employ the company that installed it to fix it as it was still under DLP! [emoji849][emoji23]
I was a bit surprised I got half going Paul.
It has six big scrolls on R410a split into two systems. Condenser fans are EBM EC Blues so have internal VSD's and the controls/processors/boards are Danfoss which I'm not familiar with but am learning.
It doesn't have a CW vessel, instead uses plate heat exchangers for both cold and hot water sides.
It has what looks like a vessel on the HW side but I think it works more like a buffer tank?
We're about to quote the second stage of works.
The third stage is corrosion treatment.
I think that's an apprentices job [emoji6][emoji23]
They'll kill me!
And good on your boys getting the new evap up and running.
The very first EXV equipped one I put in 5 years ago was a rush job by myself to replace an existing blower in a large packaged beer/wine room and I didn't think to run a dedicated supply for the valve.
Had to do that the next day when it kept pumping down/turning the valve off when the t/stat switched. [emoji15][emoji23]
I hate it when they take so long to approve jobs the memory isn't that good,we have to go back and work out what we we're going to do, and what we need. Its a PITA.
Sure a lot can be written down, pics taken, but there is always something that is missed[biggrin][bigsad]
On another topic, just replaced another Evap in a 70Kw package Actron AC unit. They leak in the middle of the coil, both units less than 4 yrs old.Bloody rubbish[bigsad]
Thats two in the last month[bigsad]
Twin circuits, its always the larger circuit that leaks.
Edit. We have over 20 same size Carrier Apac, package,on a job, went in 1999,never replaced an Evap. They run 24/7.
Replaced condensers, only due to fins corroding.
Good quality old school[thumbsupbig]
Yes,easy to get caught.Cold room is easy as can be wired to fans,Freezer is different, unless you are lucky to have a permanent supply to the drain heater, or whatever.
We were going to loop the power for the EEV to the cooling call on the EEV,and just leave solenoid to use for cycling, but apparently the EEV will fault so that was the end of that.[bigsad][biggrin]
Because it will have a cooling call and no cooling happens it wont be happy.
Do it once, do it properly, they are good payers i tell the boys.[biggrin]
We have had 3 freezer coils with shagged defrost heaters in the last week, strange how sometimes get a run on things.
The other one I priced, the heaters from Heatcraft were same price as the coil. Can get them made, somewhere else, but customer cant wait.So we will do that coil next week.
One of the boys went there and turned it on defrost, got a boot, the wire had burnt off one of the heaters and was lying in the ice around the TX[bigsad][biggrin]
Yep, 100%, and that happened here.
We were just lucky their own reporting systems are so bad they'd raised another job just last week as the AC wasn't working. Anything I'd missed is being fixed, do and charge [emoji849][emoji6]
I've had a 4yo Actron condenser fail about 12 months ago, similar to how you describe the evaps. It wasn't corrosion.
We had one old APAC pac unit condenser fail in Ballina, but Airnaster got the job, (Landlord repairs, not our client) but yes, they are really good, solid old units.
I was only discussing this with a bank manager at a branch on Wednesday. Their unit is in near new condition but is on R22 and isn't that far from the coast
Oh, I wish I could make money from being creative.
Then I wouldn't be a burnt out old fridgie.[emoji23]
JEEEZUZ, that could have been nasty Paul. You can't retire Paul, the Boys need you for initial testing of electrics.[bigsad]Quote:
