One for the fridgies

FWIW I reckon my life changed when our Jacky died @ 17 years which was pretty bloody good.. Seriously[bigsad]. Family wanted to get us another dog but we felt it wasn't fair & at our ages it would outlive us.
[bigrolf] Instead, our youngest got a Border Collie which gives me great affection when I see her, & we both dislike parting company. Maybe it is the Meaty Treats in my pocket when I see her?[bigrolf]

Yes I agree, losing a dog is akin to losing a friend or close family member & grief can last for a while as you realise they are not there to get under your feet.

Yep, I'm only at the point now I reckon where I could get another dog.
It's only been 10 years [bigsad]

Oh, and regardless of the NSW Govt contacting me a saying I need another license, apparently my Fridgie supervisors ticket covers whatever I have to deal with when (if? [bigwhistle]) I go back to work.

I am sure you are aware but it is worth mentioning anyway that since Covid, heaps of people went out & bought dogs for company I suspect so they became scarce (a bit like Toilet Paper if you like) consequently there will be animals out there that people rushed in & bought which already had problems, my daughters Collie being just one but, fortunately she had Previous Owner's/Broker's Guarantees on the dog's health & when something minor arose the saw the vet, got a report & went back to the previous Owner. This turned out ok in the end, she was reimbursed for Vet costs & everything is now hunky dory. It wasn't anything serious but it can happen & the seller was genuinely honest. Re your work experience. So they bloody well should look after you, what would they want otherwise want you, to do your apprenticeship & attend Trade School yet again? Yeah roight.[bigrolf] Good days maybe, but you are bit past that stuff these days a bit like many. Could we do today what we all did when we were sweet sixteen.[bigsad]Yes there is such a thing as Canine Broker ffs. Who knew?

I recon there were more tears when the dog died,than when my mum went 18 months ago....

But then again,mum was to be expected,but with the dog it was suddenly,not expected.

The other dog was good at eating anything edible that was dropped on the floor,particularly by the Grandkids,i gotta get this one trained to do the same[biggrin]
