I heard a story like this, might be an "Urban Myth" guy decides to work on roof but no harness point, so throws a rope over the roof and ties it to car bumper, hooks on and starts working, then wife decides to take car to pop out to the shops!

Doesn't matter if the milk crate complies or not. WHS (not OHS - catch up to the jargon) says you must have three points of contact, plus an offsider to hold it steady. How do you get three points of contact on a milk crate?
