Got a good look at my first trans-critical CO2 supermarket installation today, just being commissioned. We'll be providing emergency service back up.
Medium temp coils are fully flooded, superheat varies between 0 & 2k!!!
And up to 90bar on the high side???!!!
Discharge lines and manifold out of the MT Rack is stainless, not copper.

Including do not isolate anything, do not adjust a setting under any circumstance.
Do not add refrigerant (CO2) after a gas leak as it's a critical charge, it's a specific charging sequence as this System has in effect two vessels (receivers) and liquid levels are indeed critical to operation, and on it goes.
What I'm used to is a CO2 cascade, R134a on the medium temp side, CO2 low temp with a heat exchanger between them.Quote:

There is no condenser, its a gas cooler. I called it a de-superheater as I reckon that describes it more accurately.
And it incorporates old school features, it has a fully computerised fogger/water spray setup to keep temps under control on the hot gas cooler above 30°!
