One for the fridgies

Talking about new refrigerants,these arrived today,i believe the only ones in the country.
Danfoss Aus won't have any for 10 weeks,at least.
We sourced them from Austria,delivery on DHL in 3 days.
Even if Danfoss in Aus had them,we definitely wouldn't get any out of them in 3 days.[bighmmm]

This refrigerant will replace R404a,one of the most common refrigerants used in commercial refrigeration.
In normal temp applications,seems to run well,operating at around R22 pressures,but with a glide and lower discharge temps.
The orifaces are also sized almost identically in capacity to R22.

Whether it can be used successfully in low temp applications,some say yes,others say no,due to high discharge temps.
We haven't done one yet,so will have to wait and see.

Paul, what is your special need for them & being so rare? Danfoss & Sporlan. Two greatest names in our industry for TEVs & others.

We have a site that has specified R448a,but there are no valves in the country for the refrigerant yet,as its new.
Common in Europe,replacing R404a as has a lot lower GWP(Global Warming Potential.)
In Aus,we are behind the other countries,as usual.[bighmmm]

Used a few of the 'newish' small Sporlan,its a copy of the TE Danfoss valves,but no where near as good,had one fail last week,12 months old.Wont use them again.

We wouldn't have one Danfoss valve fail a year.Select it properly,install it properly,never touch it.

Always liked Sporlan,and we are still using them in the larger sizes,a great valve,as they always have been.

Yep, was doing a site audit six months ago and came across a French blast freezer that used R448a.
I had to Google it to see what it was!

You never know, you might also get a replica full size Princess Mary Doll to go with the Dannys. Wouldn't that be noice?[smilebigeye]

When I was young 'old school' meant you'd dealt with methyl chloride, SO2, etc.
R12, 22, 502 were state of the art. [emoji16]

I keep denying I'm getting older, but the crazy hours are catching up with me atm.
But the young fellas are struggling too, so then I don't feel so bad. [emoji23]
