Yep i have the adapters as well.

The boys both have some lines that have 5/16 flare one end and 1/4 flare on other end,but i don't know where they got them from,or the brand of them.

My Imperial manifold uses that style hose.
I think I have JB hoses on it?
I set it up like that so I could just swap hoses if I needed to, but half the time I just use the adapters.
It's surprising how many big commercial systems use 1/4" SAE fittings with R410a.

Bit of a grave dig of a great thread....

F&P upside down fridge (the one that had the dud freezer fan motor) unused for 8 years.

Plug it in and away it goes, freezing water like it should. This is in a 15A socket with the right safety switch which trips, less and less frequently, i.e. maybe every 2 days to not at all.

Plug it into a separate meter with a 10A socket and the smaller safety switch tripped last night.

Switching the thing on does not cause the tripping, any ideas?

    cheers, DL

Two things, first freezing water doesn't mean much.Water freezes at 0 degrees, the freezer should run at -20.
If the ice cream is hard, all good.

The only way to work out what is going on is to mega the cabinet,to check for any leakage to earth.Defrost heater is often the culprit, but it could be anything causing the issue.

    Hello All,

Is there any preparation or cautionary notes about starting a Engel Portable Fridge that has not been used in probably over a decade?

I inherited my late father's fridge he bought when he and mum were travelling around the countryside after they retired. It has not been used since.

    Kind regards
    Lionel

The easiest way to wreck an enjoyable hobby.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
