My daughter is currently having ducted air conditioning fitted to her house.

On the advice of the experts on here I recommended Mitsubishi Heavy Industries aircon unit.

The installer claims that there are no units in the country at present so the installation will be delayed.

Should she wait or is there another brand that the experts on here recommend to be comparable with MHI.

    Regards PhilipA

GOOGLE is not a lot of help, but yes there does appear to be a GENERAL shortage of A/C equipment blaming C-19.

One part reckons it on the Docks where the delays are & another talks about a shortage of Skilled people but nothing peculiar to MHI equipment.

I guess she has to bother the Dealer frequently to stay on top of the list. Squeaky axle/oil etc.

Yes, don't use that Heavy Industry crap! Mitsubishi Electric is a much better quality product.

There are shipping delays on many different products because of Covid-19.

I rate MHI One for the fridgies
I was a dealer for years and had minimal warranty issues, but MHIA can be PITA to deal with.

    Mitsu Electric are very good.

It may depend just where they are made. The ones here are made in Malaysia and are crap!

Interesting, all the ones we had are made in Thailand and excellent.
I used to use both Daikin and MHI and I'd take an MHI unit over Daikin every day of the week.

Maybe Asian Countries Manufacturing standards are changing? For instance, Mazda CX-3 made in Thailand is a lovely, economical well finished car.

At one time I understand they were made in Malaysia. Mazda must have changed for a good reason.

I recall some Carrier Residential stuff were made in Malaysia & from memory they weren't the crash hot unit that we were led to believe, but still a heap better than the USA built ones (Carrier home base is the USA at Syracuse, or was) Cheap Tin plate cabinets & flimsy construction & talk about noisy!!!!!. There was a story put about that OZ were getting the last of the run out machines before they introduced a completely new system. ????????

    Lucky us eh?
