Problems with the Postie

I've found greeting your Postie with a bottle of Scotch at Christmas makes for a very good service thoughout the year. It also helps that he likes motor bikes (not his ****y postie bike) and 4WD's, so there is often something in my driveway I'm working on that make for conversation on the occational time I'm home when he comes around. I also have a mail box that is at the right hieght, and has a large opening - which can take an A4 envolope without bending it. If you have a small opening, they will always bend things to get them through.

Have a chat to your Postie and ask them what they would like in the way of a mail box - it makes a BIG difference if you stay on the right side of them.:)

I've had success through their complaints dept. too, I reckon it's worth a go. And an pass or two with the iron may restore your certificate.

Not so much the letter type posty. The sub contractor that must be working whilst on day release from a sheltered work shop delivering there lager parcels is our problem. Using a warm and fuzzy working demeanor and his name in the same sentence would not happen often. He really does need a group hug or adjustment of his medicines. :) The local post office also has a minor problem with Anglo Saxon type names as the family who run the news agents / post office are Asians. Nice people, just still getting to grips with names like Hall

I agree, take the time to know the postie and have a chat - our ones have been great people and sometimes on a wet day would even drop the mail up at the house. My current one is an asshat, but thankfully I have a PO box and the mail centre are now kind enough to just send any mail that gets addressed to my property straight to the PO box.

I have been blessed with some rippers!

I used to spend a bit of time in the front driveway, and always had a chat to "Pat". Really nice bloke, talked to the kids, gave them the letters etc...

I didn't recognise him one day at the bus stop when he pulled up for a chat, in leathers on the biggest motorbike in the world. He paid me out for a while on that one.

He went on leave once, and a new postie turned up. He immediately greeted me by name, stopped for a chat, and told me he had been fully briefed by "Pat"!!

I have an office job now, and no time in the driveway during the week. But my parcel postie is on the ball. He will leave parcels at my place in a convenient landy, and a cryptic little note saying "yellow", "green" or "white" depending on how big the parcel and which one is unlocked!!!

Only thing is, there is probably an Australia Post requirement to inconvenience the client by returning parcels to a post office that the client cannot get to in opening hours......

Our postie is pretty good, except when he is driving on the wrong side of the road...in an 80k zone..:o

I used to service his car before i changed career paths..i guess he liked to make sure he was taken care of too..

Couriers on the other hand dont seem to own vehicles that can drive up a hill....:mad:
