Yeah - I want to travel through there when I get a bit more retired. Ever since I saw the Top-Gear Vietnam special! Until I saw that program I'd never thought about it at all.
My wife and I had the privilege of travelling through Vietnam in September:epic landscapes, beautiful people. Amongst the sea of 125 cc scooters were a surprising number of Range Rovers. On route in KL Malaysia we spotted this little beauty too.

If anyones Interested we are putting together a 8/10 week Asian Trip for 2014.
Yes you bring your own Land Rover.
Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and maybe Singapore.
We will post further details up on Home within the next few months.
Hey Juddy - how much do you estimate it'd cost for shipping the LRs up there? Presume there's be a fair old AQIS charge for cleaning the vehicles when they get back to Aust.
Do you need a Carnet for these countries?
Cheers
David
Enjoy travels in Vietnam Mates.
You will get to see their amazing beaches and worth a visit to Grand Canyon.
Cheers.
Hi David
I will put up a post in the coming months, with the plans and full details, Its a journey I have wanted to do all my life, we were going to do it just as a solo trip, but I am happy to make it into a tag along tour.
Carnets are not needed for all the countries we intend to visit. Again I will have all the hard research done sone.
AQIS who knows I really cant say, if we ship out out Bangkok for the return leg, I have the use of a full wash bay etc in the city, so this will help with things when the shipment arrives here, I have brought in vehicles etc before so I am well aware of whats required to pass the clean test, worst case $200.
Shipping depends again on how many but between no more than 3k ish
