    Where is everyone going over the Melbourne Cup W/E

    Ok so it really is only applicable to us Victorians but what does everyone have planned for the upcoming long weekend, can't wait to get back up there in the high country tracks after there reopening personally.

    Absolutely bugger all to do with 4WD's or camping. We're flying up to Sydney for the long weekend, next year will be something more local though.

    Well I`m doing a combined pick up and 4wd`ing. Pick up is at Tolmie near Mansfield.

    I'll be going Mansfield - Sheepyard Flat - Craig's Hut - Lake William Hovell - Wangaratta.

    Pretty happy, just moved down here from QLD, find i get a 4 day weekend and get invited out 4wding /camping with my new workmates.

    Staying at a winery in Mount Gambier, SA. I can taste the wine and cheese from here!!!

    Might get a day of 4wd'ing in somewhere. Not sure yet...

    Melbourne Cup Weekend, are you kidding, no way.... I avoid long weekends & school holidays like the plague.

    I remember a trip to the Gulf following Burke & Wills footsteps in the 1980's and we saw perhaps 2 other vehicles in the 3 weeks we were away, retraced the trip a few years ago & the longest we went without seeing another car was about 20 minutes,

    I hate to think what the Vic mountains are like nowadays, for someone like me with Agoraphobia the tracks might as well be like this
