So far. Perhaps this slump will produce another champion era. Meantime, you have to admit, the Indians are playing good cricket. I suppose it about time someone knocked us off the pedestal, can only be good for World Cricket, Bob
The Indians I find to be home track bullies, with occasional flashes of brilliance outside of that. Their best players have their best years behind them, and the youngsters coming through haven't had enough time to make their mark yet. PLUS their heads keep being turned by the riches of the IPL.

But still, that was a good old fashioned thrashing.

Sorry to say Bob, Australia haven't been top of the rankings in Test cricket for a while... as in since August 2009

    Since then its been

    South Africa - August 2009 - Nov 2009,
    India - Nov 2009 - Aug 2011
    England - Aug 2011 - Aug 2012
and now South Africa again - Aug 2012 - present date.

Now I am depressed, thank God the footy starts soon I just wish the ACB would get its act together, select a selection panel of Chappell era players, who actually produced the goods themselves, and put a bit of backbone in some of these young players. I'm sure Ed Cowan was crying when he walked off today, disgraceful, Bob

Not wanting to rub salt into the wounds, but happy to anyway. Did I hear correctly that the Indian 2nd wicket partnership made more runs than Australia did in 2 innings and that may have been the first time in history that a side has declared it's first innings and gone on to lose by an innings +.

You realise all you've done is stir the dormant giant into action ......... oh ****, we were flogged. again. I have thought for a while that our cricketers were getting a bit up themselves, Siddons impersonation of the Indian batsmen , shaking the head side to side, in the time honoured ' goodness gracious me', was a bit off. At least in the prime , al la Lillee & co, they may have sledged, been a bit arrogant, but I don't remember many times when they belittled opponents in that manner. But then, the old cricketers were men. These seem like little boys, led by a boy . Bob

We are back to having a crap team in the doldrums at the moment. I think it will take a while to get a half decent team back together.

Not sure what is going on when our 'All rounder' can't bowl and want to open the batting when he can't make double figures at number 4...

As for the comments I hear about India being hard to beat on home soil - while that has elements of truth, England managed to dispatch them last year, and there is a difference between losing and having you arse handed to you...

Although the scorecard doesn't tell the whole story, it is now recorded in history that we declared our first innings with a wicket in hand. I wonder what people will think of that in years to come...
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

I saw that, and refrained from posting it. Did make me smile though.
