Sadly, I fear they might be waiting a while for any wins.

I don't envy the next guy (Lehmann?) and their first game being the Ashes in England! Yikes!

Interesting article on the Fairfax/SMH site today reckoning Mickey has been made a scapegoat.

    Standard Operating Procedure.

It is an unwritten rule in high profile jobs IMO. As soon as things go pear shaped, the leader is fired, or falls on his/her sword "for the greater good". They get paid out the rest of their contract and 2 weeks later they start a new contract for the same job in a different organisation. Also they buy a new car. (Probably not a Landy).

Call my cynical if you want - perhaps I am - but the leader will always be the "scapegoat" if it makes everyone feel vindicated.

Getting back to cricket, my point is it doesn't matter if it's Mickey's fault or not. S.O.P. says it's his fault, so there must be consequences.

    Yeah, I'm cynical.

And more news - Michael Clarke has stood down as a selector.

Sign of more changes to come perhaps? New broom sweeping clean, and all that?

Yeah I think you're right sheerluck. Wouldn't be surprised if lots more changes are coming with that news. The side playing the Ashes now and at the end of the year could be quite different teams at this rate...

    That's awesome.

Is it by any chance from the Shane Warne musical? I've only just realised that's actually a thing that exists.
