This is why I and many others would like to see National Service reactivated.
I am doing a training course in town at the moment and our instructor said to us in the morning that we will be stopping and observing the minutes silence. At 5 to eleven we stopped the course and stood around the instructors car so we could listen to the wireless, all of us except one young fella who took the time to check his facebook during the silence. This ****ed me right off,so i gave him a gob full and he could not understand why me and the rest of the blokes were upset. He muttered under his breath he didn't give a **** and was going to inform my employer about my "abuse". I wonder about some young people today, some of the young blokes i work with are switched on and others i want to push down a stope.
This is why I and many others would like to see National Service reactivated.
Attended service at Cairns, very well done , the student who sang National Anthem was excellent.
Yesterday,we visited Yungaburra and Avenue of Honour. A truly magnificent and enduring concept, all service is recognised not just KIA, and the dogs have their memorial.

Tuesdays from 10:30am to 11:30am is our weekly production meeting for the processing side of our operations - a conference call where all the sites dial in and issues etc are discussed - run from Perth office.
Half way through the meeting - the conference call observed one minutes silence - was great to see all of our sites observing this.
Lest We Forget.
Cheers .........
