Easy way to remove glued down trim/carpet?
I am stripping the interior on my ex-tour bus 6x6 perentie and the interior walls are covered in well glued down carpet that doesn’t want to come out. Is there a trick to getting this up or is it a case of elbow grease and a scraper?
I have lovingly delegated this job to my girlfriend (whilst I start to remove the front end and engine) so she will be very grateful for any tips or hints
Might one of those 18v vibrating multi-tool things help? An excuse to buy more tools AND make the job easier for the girl friend could be too good to pass up!
Cheers,
Dave

I had similiar issues getting marine carpet off of my ex-Telstra canopy.
Tried lots of things but the best was some Diggers "Glue Rid" or maybe it was called "Glue Off" or something like that. Got it from Mitre 10, but Bunnings will have it too I'd say. Comes in a 1 litre tin. Don't let her use it inside - it will give her a headache!
Such a nice guy to give your girlfriend a job like that

Depending on what the cab is made of, use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the glue?

Tried a heat gun? Ozito ones are only ~$30 from bunnings.
Just make sure the area is well ventilated.

It is stuck onto sheet steel so heat gun could work. Heat gun or solvant, either way it is going to be unpleasant.
Maybe I will have to do this myself and give my gf a nicer job...

you can try soaking a section at a time with mineral turps (if you are in a well ventilated area)
I did this to the inside of Series roof (after removing said roof and inverting it) and it literally peeled off - depends on the glue a bit I guess

All this talk of "well ventilated area"?! If you don't have it well ventilated, you won't have to provide beer to those assisting
.
During the refit of the floor at work (high rise building), I was amused to see concreting shovels used to remove the carpet tiles. Looked like hard work (I could have sat and watched all day).

General purpose automotive paint thinners would work (that is why your girlfriend got a headache {stoned=high}) do small sections at a time, paint brush it on,and heat gun and paint scraper it off,and leave the vehicle between aplications, that's how we used to do it when doing bus interiors.
cheers

Don't start going soft Jitterbug, make her to the hard jobs now to test her suitability for the life in front of her with you.

PS. Good luck with the job though, it ain't easy as I've done a bit myself when the Cook went on strike when asked pleasently to do it!
