Injured Landy Lady needs your postcard to get back on track

    Dear all,

I have just registered myself and made my 1 post to help an injured Land Rover owner here in Germany. This is not a fake thread so please continue reading and make up your mind.

There are 2 forums just like this one in Germany and we do have a member with the nick name "Trottellumme".

Jutta, which is her real name, has suffered a massive stroke on 5th November. She is currently in rehabilitation and struggling to get back on her legs. At the moment, left arm and left leg are completely paralyzed and she has only a 50% field of view and the short term memory is very debilitating.

In order to help and motivate her the coming time, people simply send her a postcard with large writing and funny designs. This makes her verry happy and "forces" her to learn to read again.

Please see a picture of her hospital room, nicely decorated by her husband.

I just read about her last night and went straight to the post office today after work with my mail to her.

If you wish to do so as well please send a postcard to:

    Jutta Kuhlmann
    Am Kartoffelberg 1
    D-29690 Essel
    Germany

As I'm not sure if this is the right place to post such a call, the forum admin should feel free to move this thread to the right place (or to delete it if this is unwanted).

I would appreciate your support very much and would really love to see many postcards coming to Jutta's room (I didn't made anybody aware of my posting here so it can be a very big surprise).

    Thanks,
    Bernd

My thoughts go out to Jutta and her family. Have sent card today - an old Landy card, hope she likes. Can understand how she and her familiy must feel as my sister in law had a similar stroke earlier this month - left side paralysis as well and still in hospital having trouble with eyes and memory and no movement down left side - only 53 too....... could be any of us at any time I guess so have to really not take your life for granted. Helen prior to her stroke had excellent diet and lifestyle, not overweight, was a landscaper, house builder and stone mason and hopefully will either be so again or be able to move on to something else - she wont give up and has great support from her family. Thanks for the post

I think it's just fair to show latest updates; just in case you can recognize your own card.

Jutta is back at home as situation didn't improved in the hospital anymore.

Thanks for all of your support and Merry Christmas,
    Bernd
