Currently considering this place. It's cheap (like me).

Have a look on grays, you can haggle on the price as well.

    I recently stayed here:
Sandors on The Park - Accomodation in Launceston, Tasmania

$95/night. Close to everything. Clean but old. Currently being rennovated. Breakfast is quite cheap at $10/day. Internet is $40/wk extra.

Could be worse though, my colleagues were down the road with $20 breakfast and $90 internet!

This used to be my old watering hole

TRC Hotel :: Accommodation, Sports Bar, bottleshop & Dining in Launceston, Tasmania.

Fairly basic meals, out of the CBD but still in town. Basic cheap pub meals, good beer and reasonably quiet

Never been to the Saloon (Hotel Tasmania) on a Sunday night but Wednesday nights are Uni night.

If you prefer the older style pub feel I'd suggest somewhere like the TRC, if your after the pub trying to be a club but not quite there, then go the Saloon.

Please note I've never stayed there, so I can't honestly vouch for the accommodation side of things

    Thanks Mrs HH,

I just had a look - he's still on here, last visited a few days ago. I'll PM him. The phone no. I have might work but it's been a while since I called him,

I won't have a bike. I'll stay in town so I can walk around with a camera.

Hey mate - you're welcome to stay out at my joint if you want, but be aware that it's out bush not in town.

Richard is still about. I've caught up with him a couple of times this year.

Let us know when you want to catch up for drinks

    Cheers
    Chris

Thanks for the offer, Chris. I'm booked for 3 nights (15-17th March)with the other V-Strom riders at Archers Manor. As Je(s)tstar have changed the flight for my wife, she'll be in Hobart a day earlier, so I only have to find a room for one more night (18th March) in Launceston. A hotel in town will suit me well so I can wander the streets during the day and evening with a camera to get some pics of those wonderful old buildings around town.

I'll catch a bus or something to Hobart on the 19th.

However, I would like to get together for a drink/coffee with a few of the AULRO members if that's feasible. I think you and Justin C are the only ones from Tassie whom I've met.

Archers Manor is just about 1km down the road from me, a bloke called Rourky manages the Manor, known him a long time, good fella.
15th is a Friday, so love to catch up over the weekend. could even lend you a 38 (if it's going ).
anyway we need to organize drinkies with everyone....how about Sporties, The TRC, The Oak, The Star Bar or maybe The George.... they all have accomodation.
be great to put some faces to names.
