We do. We give a warning to new members but someone who has been here for a long time should know better. Some are serial offenders.
However, my view is that if a poster is trying to self-filter, maybe they should think about it and not use the words at all, after all, they are admitting it is wrong.
i use the search button sometimes but i try and put in key words but very rarely i get to where i want to go.
I have not used the google one yet does it work better?
I know you do this but the members needs cleaning up there is 1300 members who have only posted once and any of them who have not been on the site in the last 3 months i think could go
the other thing is i use the forum jump a lot and even though there is a lot of sections it is easy to scroll through. But if the box was a little bigger/higher that would be good as i easily scroll past them.
I can not think of any big changes i like the wiki you created, fingers crossed it gets used.
thanks for all your efforts Inc very much appreciated
The focus of the site has changed ever so subtly over the years,, it is now seen very much as a resource for Land Rover owners world wide.
and- we have leanrt over the years that not everyone is comfortable posting here:angel:, and that is why its a 12month 1 post thing. AULRO, it seems, is a home for Lurkers!:p
I guess i never thought of that, I just thought most people come on here to chat etc. I should have known as when i log on there is always twice as many guests as members
The site pages can be very slow to load! Perhaps you use a non-add version?
The problem is with the advertising and tracking code, any element that is fetched from an external domain can be slow to deliver and the rest of the page will not load until a response is given.
You need to move all your javascript out of the HEAD and place it just before the closing </body> tag
Also use defer to force a script to execute after the DOM has loaded
All advert space should be just empty placeholders, with javascript inserting the adverts into those placeholders after the DOM has loaded.HTML Code:<script defer="defer"></script>
Your page content will then load as a priority and all the external trimmings will come after.
i see more adverts than you generally speaking
i am not the only one that doesn't see the delays others talk of.
i have tried many optimisations over time and am always looking as what can be done, but some of it is out of my control.
gold subscribers can use a light weight skin that doesn't have adverts ;)
