How do you think he felt opening the door to two police and seeing a tow truck in the background?

This is in my LSA but about 160 k away.

Some roads around there, whether it be legal or not. Are more than suitable for those speeds - at the (term used loosely) - appropriate time...

Persons who shall remain nameless, in their youth would put people at different points on certain roads, and using CB would confirm that section was empty before doing some 'speed trials'

Often speeds exceeded 200+ km/h

One individual (again nameless) went 300+ on his 'Busa on occasion.

When the brain washed masses of this country wake the heck up, demand better driver education, better roads etc then we could get a decent speed limit applied to areas.

140km/h in a decent vehicle is NOT fast.... In the appropriate location.

Driving 6 hours at 110km/h when doing 140km/h would cut that by 75 minutes makes a huge difference to the fatigue of the driver.

Go to Germany - There was nothing quite like motoring along at 220km/h only to be overtaken like you were standing still...
And its perfectly NORMAL....

But then - they really do have to earn their license and the penalties for breaking the rules are harsh and enforced...

Agreed though - posting on Youtube seems to be the downfall of all these individuals...

And not knowing the circumstances of his video escapades, it is hard to fathom whether he was endangering public at the time.

Our speed limits have not been updated since 1960 other than metric conversion and a few miles of motorway increased to 110 kph.

There have been exponential improvements in vehicles and roads since then. The road toll has drastically reduced and continues to fall. So how about an increase in open road speed limits to 140 kph or unrestricted as it used to be in NSW.

And many of our roads have not been significanrly improved from the 1960s. Even the major highways like the Hume and Pacific still have cross roads and individual driveways to properties. A very different situation to the autobahns in Germany.

However what is more of a problem is how someone who has bee disqualified from driving for more than 60 years can still be free to drive on the road. 'Dangerous' driver had been banned until 2074 - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

I agree to a point Tombie. Having lived in Germany for a number of years, and experiencing the high speeds on the autobahns, the average speed limit on the motorways here in Oz feels like continental drift. The fatality rate is lower in Germany too, and amongst the lowest in the world.

So what's the difference? Where do you start....

• Very strict version of the roadworthy/pink slip - the HU test
• Totally different mindset in how to drive, lane discipline is taught, respected and upheld by police. Tailgating will land you with a license suspension.
• Different attitude to speed.
• Speed limits arounds towns and schools are largely respected, after all, why would you speed around local streets when you can do what you want on the motorways??

So ultimately the nutjob on the video may well have recce'd the route, known his vehicle was up to the job, and done it at a time when there was no traffic, but you would still have to question his IQ on the basis that he broke the law, filmed himself doing it, and posted it for the whole world to see.

I still don't understand how you can use abuse of the law and hooning to calculate IQ????

Obedience and ego are not a functions measured by IQ testing.
