Bit of a panic on the way home tonight, drove halfway home friday and to work this morning on the fuel light planning to fill up on the way home.
Went to 3 servo's that were out of diesel which i half expected being that Tullamarine is a busy transport area but luckily safeway fuel having a low roof wasnt sold out yet.
Managed to get 450 litres late today at a Caltex truck servo that was out earlier.
They got 45'000 droped mid morning and word got out.
There are 4 other outlets within 10km that where out.
A few of the other trucks I work with are under 1/4 full and couldn't find fuel on their way from job sites to the quarry.
As mine is out tonight on double shift I'll be looking for the same again by lunch time tomorow.
Please don't take it all and store it at home, some of us need deisel to work:angel:
And maybe a little for play:wasntme:
SWMBO is already on her Motor Bike:D. The Caltex in Sunbury got 17000 litres this morning, but were out again by lunch, so I missed an opportunity. Good job the weather is good for riding ATM...
went past 2 shell's 2nite in adelaide
both were out of diesel
Went to my local servo this morning to get mower fuel and they had diesel. Don't know how much they had but there was no rationing, so I topped up just in case.
Caltex seem to have diesel where the BP stations don't.
SA Ambulance, Fire Service & Country Fire Service have just been advised to fill up with diesel, NOW. :o
Some stations are holding jerry cans of diesel as back up.
And, all this with a week of high temps & high winds.
Fingers crossed.
i believe the refinery in geelong is back online now but obviously a backlog to clear so might be a little while.
confined to sa/vic/nsw and mainly bp/shell servos and customers of. :)
