I think I would be panicking as well when someone is raming me of the road and driving like a lunatic.

I thought he was very cool, trying to avoid someone who was completely irrational ?

I am surprised the police have not arrested the offending driver !!! seems pretty black and white to me. And even if the other driver did cut him off the reaction was a total over reaaction.

Perhaps a dashcam would be a good investment, also without it would be hard one to explain to the insurance company.

im trying to avoid being the armchair expert

given his speech, he had panicked.

one of the best thing i've learnt is there is no such thing as a stressful situation. only stressful reactions.

and just to be clear, i am in no way saying what the driver of the ute did was ok.

i would like to know how much the female passanger of the ute was egging the driver on.

MMMM are we in Australia I wonder.

There is a thing of freedom of speech.

Bad language in a video wow now thats bad. I wonder if he sends a letter to every radio or TV station for bad language.

GET OVER IT. This is a FORUM not kindergarten.

There is very little said in the TT piece about what started the fracas. At the beginning of the video the victim can be seen pulling away from a set of lights in the left lane. The left lane then ends with a "Form One Lane" sign and he merges to the right. Based on my own similar experience, I suspect the victim has pulled across in front of the black Navara who has objected unreasonably. What we don't see is what happened before the encounter at the lights or whether the Navara was in fact right beside the victim when he merged. The victim says he was hit from behind but that can be subjective if he in fact clipped the side of the Navara.

There's always more to these things... but none of this excuses the psychopath from driving a Nissan!

the camera doesnt show everything, however i dont see the ute in the frame at all. so i dont think its in front at the merge bit of the road. and hence the ute should be giving way.

the video does show (at the 26sec mark) him appearing to be hit from behind. the object in the camera moves forward, not to the side, indicating to me he was hit from behind and not hit from the side.

later in the video, it shows the ute revering into the mans car. the speed of the ute is very clear and you can see the car being moved by the impact.

also when the ute jumps on the brakes and the man rear ends the ute. the camera jolts

in the initial encounter i cant see effects of being hit from behind. the car isnt jolted or moved to the side and i can only conclude the initial rear ending was soft with both cars being at a similar speed.

I totally agree with you about Vic and in particular Melbourne based drivers.

I have driven all over Australia and all around the world.

I spend a fair bit of time on the road and I am embarassed to say , every day without fail , I see drivers being discourteous , aggressive , irrational , tailgating , speeding , slow driving in the right lane , dangerous and down right stupid in their driving behaviour.
And that doesn't include the ones that directly affect me

I am going to become a one man vigilante , get one of those dash cams and send off any stupid behaviour to Vic Pol.

Unlike some countries, there is no defined freedom of speech in Australia.

Go and read the conditions of access and http://www.aulro.com/afvb/general-ch...-reminder.html

goingbush has had a previous warning.

I have dash cam fitted to my car. Invaluable bit of gear last Thursday had a minor accident. Idiot driver came out of side street thru a stop sign. I hit his R/H front.

When he finally decided to get out of the car and screaming because i dent his pride and joy. BTW did i mention his car was a Maserati. Anyway fair bit of damage to his car. like tow truck time for him. Couple of paint scuffs to my bullbar. He had already called the cops and started scream all this abuse and saying i was speeding ect.

The cops showed up. (surprised I was). After he got to them first and a lot of arm waving and pointing the cops wandered over to me and ask me my side of things. I just directed them to the cam and played it back. All resolved.

The other driver got done for failing to stop, dangerous driving, making a false report to police.

So all in all the $50 cam has saved mega legal costs
