    Holidays rudely interupted

    Im on holidays,Dec20 to Jan14.
Boss calls thismorning, there is a tree over a road 40ks from town and you need a loder to shift it.He is away,so I was left to deal with it.Started making phonecalls, seems everyone was as keen as me to work today.
Got a workmate, and seeing he didnt have his semi licence I had to drive the float,at least 2 years since I have.
39degC when we got there, the loader was only just up to shifting it,if it wasnt we would have had to cut it up.

Heck, with the organisations I've worked for, if one was recalled back from leave, one would get re-credited with all the leave already taken. It was very good when it happened near the end of one's leave!

Do penalty rates apply to the time you are called in for as well?

    Cows

Are there any Dairy farmers on the forum?

The cows have to be milked and there isn't any call out rates, no overtime and no penalty rates for the milkman.

I salute you fellows, as I know how hard it is, to arrive home and the kids have already opened their presents and mum has taken the family off to church.
