Remember the saying " Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" How about all you knockers of Serena Williams put a picture of yourselves up and let us pass judgement on you.
John.
She doesn't do much for me either, but if I had to choose between you and her I'd probably pick her, Ron... :p
Thank God for that! :D
She isn't what you would describe as a classical beauty, but there is something about an athletic woman, (and let's face it, she is a very athletic woman) that still appeals.
And she's the second most successful female tennis player of all time too.
It isn't so much Serena's appearance as her style of tennis that I find unattractive. If I want to watch someone serving at 200kph, I will watch a men's match.
I'm not saying she isn't a capable player. Her record shows that she is. I just don't enjoy watching the way she plays.
The other thing I find annoying is the grunters or screamers. A couple of years ago, Kim Clijsters played Justine Henin and it was a pleasure to watch. Not only were they playing with the sort of finesse that used to differentiate women's tennis from most of the men's matches, but it was almost eerily quiet with none of the grunting that some of the women players have incorporated into their repertoire.
I watched her play in the final of the Hopman Cup one year (can't remember which year). By tradition the tournament winners are both given diamond encrusted tennis balls as trophies. On presentation she said it was great to win one of these balls again for the third time because she had lost the first one and had given the second one away..
Anyway, I reckon she has 100 million plus reasons to not give a rats about what anyone thinks of the way she looks or her tennis playing style.

I can't stand either Williams sister's attitude towards their opponents - they never ever lose to a superior player, they typically blame their own poor game rather than acknowledge their victor or talk up how well they played when they win. Self confidence is one thing but arrogance towards your opponent is another. Women's tennis as a sport really only has about 5-6 players who can win a tournament from before it begins, it quite simply doesn't have the depth of the men's game.
I'd pick Sharapova over either of the Williams, as long as she wasn't that loud all the time :o
And I only like Lara Croft because she has an awesome Deefer.....
Should I be worried? :wasntme:
