I'm poised - drill in hand!
Just installing my MUD dash, and am installing my UHF in the lower position. I want to screw the bracket to the bottom face of the dash "tray".
My airconditioner is under there though, so can anyone tell me if I'm likely to bugger it? I'm only putting short (10mm) screws in.
Is the AC hard against the bottom of the dash and is there dead space or important bits near where I'll be drilling?
Any ideas? Anyone?!![]()

** covers ears, waits for explosion **
Just so that you're aware, a chunk of the wiring loom is tucked in the VERY back, up against the bulkhead, but you shouldn't be going anywhere near there.
with the radio down that low will you be able to hear it[or will you need an external speaker]?
KABOOM!
And it's in.
Should be okay in that position, but we'll see. If I need an ext speaker I can put one in. I have a few Motorola ones floating around somewhere in storage.

Looks the goods.
I'd love to know what Motorola were thinking when they designed the GM339 and made it such a weird, ovallish shape...
It's an interference fit with the MUD console. You don't want to know how long it took me to get that right by hand...

Job well done. That looks like it was meant to be there.![]()
Hi Shonky, your console looks really good, I was just wondering where you got it from and how much did it cost, I would love to put one in my Defender.
Cheers Jeff
