Australia in the 60's - Film Australia

Did you grow up in the 60's in an Australian Capital City or Launceston, Wagga, Cairns or Mount Gambier? ( Notably not Darwin)
    These are a must see...
Clearly these were produced to discourage further immigration

Yup! so much of that footage is/was familier to me,I went from Brisbane to Sydney in 1964,and was totally over-awed by the harbour and seeing my first electric trains and underground train travel, coming from Qld where the trains were still steamers, and we still had trams, moved first to Botany, then Mascot (309/310 bus from memory) a death in the family required my return, but I was back in 69 I was hooked, got a job working for "Ausfields Ltd" at Camperdown as a spares phone order interpeter, then into Leyland Aus. up until 82 when I returned to Qld

The one on Australia in the seventies was most interesting with a lot of Australian manufactured goods all gone now

being born in the early to mid eighties, I know what you mean. Although even in the last 20 years, places like Sydney have changed a hell of a lot (and not always for the better)

Cobber I've lived all my 46 years in Sydney and it's a struggle to think of much that's changed for the better.

How Did we ever get through the 60's?
No mobile phones, no video games, no Face book or Twitter telling every one what your up to and No childhood obesity?
Gee those years were tough ones, I don't know how we got through them.
there was too much time spent outdoors with sport, family picnics, swimming, playing, dressing smartly.

    I miss those years
