Showed the photos to the Irish lawyer who is my back fence neighbour. He reckons Ireland has several types of weather, cold, wet, very cold, very wet, snow. Windy can be used much of the time as a preceding adjective to the forgoing.

When I looked at the thermometer yesterday morning and it only showed -17 degrees I felt it must be spring time on its way... It's getting warmer already.
