    aint the case

aint wont never be the case

all them landies will be taken by avid green oval eyed tragics who perhaps dont use the internets or perhaps just dont care about the internets

It took me a while to realise this but the evidence is there if not hard to see ...

The three most landy tragic people I know dont play here... one of them used a 2a to tow a 21 foot Hainsey to Seisia in 1970 something... and its all on super8...

    Anywho

Carry on wondering where all the mil landies went!!!

I was only thinking this the other day, since owning my disco I often talk to other disco and other land rover owners and I'm still yet to meet one a member on here or even heard of it for that matter..... So I make it a point to mention it and tell them it's well worth having a sticky beak on here....as long as they know full and well Its VERY VERY addictive lol not sure if any bothered but they all seemed interested

This was bought on Grays by the guy that did the majority of bidding on all the rovers. This is not the only one bought by this buyer! Certainly helped to drive the price up thats for sure!

Cousins Truck Sales, if they're the same mob that was in Sydney and Brisbane in the 1970s/1980s have being trying to corner the market on ex-Government vehicles for half a century or more. They used to have more competition Like South Eastern Truck Wreckers in Wodonga, Flemington Spares and Monty Moore Parkside Motors who had Gen Doug Macarthurs staff car until he let it rust into the ground.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Good old Cousins, had to drive past there yesterday for work, would have stopped in for a stickybeak if I knew that was in the yard. Those guys are always chasing the big dollars for anything popular. I remember being tempted by the "other side" about 12 months ago, stopped in and checked out some ex telstra 4.2 turbo diesel Patrols with the leaf rear and ally canopy. Price tag read $42000, that got me back to the rover fold! They had a Puma 130 dualcab near it for about $12k less.
That one was the one I liked with the tropical roof and all but I'd want 2 for $27k. Whoever buys it will likely soon tire of it (for some the reality of day to day commuting doesn't match the dream) and sell it much cheaper when there are a lot more for private sale... I hope. Well that's what happened last time, way back in the nineties. I've only driven one non aircon, non p.steer 3.9 and it seemed more like a 2a than a Defender.

You are right but what's wrong with taking things a little slower, stopping occasionally and seeing parts of Australia you may have just whizzed through otherwise in air conditioned comfort?

If I'm lucky mine will do 1 solid trip a year other than that it pulls a trailer, takes us away camping on the weekends and also gives me something to tinker with. Sure if you need to do frequent 10 hours drives across rough roads a Perentie will be tough to live with. A few times a year though and it will be something you could actually appreciate.

When we drive it on trips the wife and I laugh about been covered in dust and how loud it is. We think it's funny that our son has to shout from the back to be heard. But most of all we love its practicality and simplicity, things that these days are hard to find in life.

Agree. You don't buy these things because they
are practical. You buy them because they are interesting.
