This vehicle is not something you want to relearn driving a manual in, the truck is an absolute handful to manage for the un-inducted!
    SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL BABY!

Overall the truck is in pretty schmick condition with something like 900hrs of preventative servicing and repairs which are all documented, It received a newly reconditioned Gearbox and transfer case 10k ago

Minor rust on axles and springs ect some dodgy wiring which i will need to repair but other than that i am really stoked with it

Most of the auction was purchased by dealers, car transporters were turning up while i was there. So i expect there will be a few on the market with another 5k on top again.
    How much ? Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    G'day Usi

You will get used to it the LT95A gearbox works very well, and you should be able to bolt an overdrive onto it, the standard LT95 takes one
you will also get used to the heavy steering similar to a 6 cylinder Series 3 they do not have a turning circle, they have an ORBIT they shake when you shut them down, but when driving it is like riding a Ducati 750 or a vibrator which is similar, 110kph is WARP Speed

But, if I could afford one I would have one tomorrow hard or soft top I am not choosey

    cheers

    ..
...and so it can Uncle (if you can find one), but it's not really recommended for use with the 4BD1, only the V8 (something about handling the torque )

true enough, you cant expect something that was only designed to deal with a v8 to handle the suzi and last

Also depends on whether the FFR has a winch. If it has the mil Powauto winch setup you cannot fit an overdrive as the gear on the rear of the mainshaft is different to the civvy one and has teeth to drive the chain for the underdrive pto. To fit an overdrive you would have to change the gear and that would mean NO pto drive. Considering it has had a reco box fitted I would suspect that it would most likely have this gear fitted whether it has a winch or not. Anyway a waste of time/money behind an Isuzu.

I'd be fitting one of "The Grubbs" Isuzu MSA 5 speed/LT230 conversions before I fitted a Fairey/GKN overdrive.

Also the Defender/Disco 1 & 2/and RRc 4 bolt steering box replaces the manual perentie steering box and the Isuzu PAS pump bolts onto the front timing case of the 4BD1 so you don't have to put up with armstrong power steering.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
