It is about 50cms higher now than in this photo as per the town gauge.

Doing this from Forumrunner so if the photo doesn't work blame it.
G'day utemad, Whereabouts in town do you live. I was born and grew up in Dalby and as kids we experienced the Myall Creek floods a few times. I can vividly remember rowing a wooden boat along the street gutters in Walsh and Etty streets and riding the pushie down the powerhouse hill into the floodwaters. Had a great time!

The one benefit for me is that having a double-brick federation home on clay, all of the cracks in the brickwork are closing up again as the clay expands.

Time to get the paintbush out again I think........

I live near the showgrounds which is high and dry. You know you're safe when you live near the evacuation centre.

The photo was taken in a low point of Trinity Green or Tragedy Green as it is known locally. Next to the golf course.
The creek is going down but water is flooding into the north side as I type.
This is the hospital as of about an hour ago.

Unless the Condamine stays up the Myall usually goes down reasonably quick, but on the plus side, good rain for the farmers and should be some good yellowbelly around after it.

    RAIN????
    What is rain?
Over this hot weather BIG TIME,ready to emigrate to the South Coast.
More +40 degC days this summer than I can ever remember, and plenty of +35degC days to back them up.

    You're SOFT

Suck it up mate... Every day this month has been over 35° here.

Last month 47-48°c was the norm...

    You get used to it

    AM now....

simple job on SWMBO's car just turned into a 8 hour marathon hindered no end by things getting slipery underfoot and every little bastard thing I dropped bounced off of the drop plate to wind up in the torrent of water or into the now over grown grass that I havent been able to get mown.

Tink clack tunk rattle= good I can find that, its still on the plate.

Tink clack tunk ominous silence =CRAP its in the water in the grass, sunk into the mud......

The dog doesnt even bother coming out from under the house now unless we've put food in her bowl.

Word of advice. IF its raining and you decide your sick of the intercooler hose blowing off so you might as well remove the manifold clean it up and trim the hose Stop there, dont go near it. There is always one more thing you need to tidy up or change just a bit.

Its been so wet here that the local rats are objecting to getting their little footsies wet and are moving into the houses - we've caught five in the last 2 weeks! The Navigator is not impressed!
We drove between Brisvegas and Byron at the weekend and the creeks were overflowing everywhere and many paddocks are now lakes all the way down the motorway.
However, this morning there has been half an hour of sunshine here, and I had to think about what was causing that bright light in the sky!

I am glad that I sold the place in Moore Park Beach and come to Tasmania
This year the weather here is unreal, sunny, hot and clear skies.
I just wonder how it is going to be next winter
