    NSW - South Eastern Forests

Next week I'll be heading down to NE Victoria via the Monga NP & Buckenbowra SF for the first few days - Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th.

I was wondering if anyone (VNX205 or Tank maybe) knew of any interesting routes between say Narooma and Bombala/Delegate with a nice bush campsite suitable for 4 or 5 vehicles along the way?

Waypoints &/or tracklogs would be nice but any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Roger

Delegate River camp is pretty good Roger on the Bendoc to Orbost road, the entrance to the camp is on the right just before the bridge over the river.

Thanks Baz, will keep it in mind but I think we may need another campsite between Narooma and Delegate depending on what 'interesting' tracks we find along the way.

Here's a pic of our camp, when you drive in, go all the way to the top, it's the biggest spot.
    Cheers Baz.

It appears that Postman's Track campsite is accessible again. It was closed because of flood damage to the roads or track in that region.

It is quite a pleasant spot beside a creek.

    This is the map reference

The turn-of from the Tantawangalow Mouintain Road is here

You would go through Candelo to get onto the Tantawangalow Mountain Rd.

    Another option

Alternatively, you could go through Bendethera Valley.

Go in from the Moruya side and out the Cooma side, the same way several of us went to the 60th Anniversary.

However, if anyone is towing a camper trailer, that option is probably out.

Good to see Postmans track open, State forest seem to have the attitude that unless a closed (by damage/fallen timber) track is needed for forestry work or an access firetrail, then they won't bother repairing /clearing the track. A lot of tracks have been closed by damage for a few years now and most you won't know about till you get to the closed section, good luck, keep in touch if you get down Moruya/Tuross way, Regards Frank.

We'll probably be camping on the Duea on Sat night - Jimmy's Hill or Dry Ck area - would be good to catch up if you were free and wanted a night in the bush.

Following up on VNX's suggestion/s I've been thinking of the Nunnock area then south via Cattlemen's track and Postman's. Do you know the Nunnock area and do yo think this is feasible?

I did that trip a few years ago in the opposite direction. It was quite an easy trip then. We came in through Postmans, then Cattlemans and came out near Bemboka.

The Nunnock Swamp camp area was quite pleasant.

I can't see any mention of any of those tracks being closed.

On Google maps, Cattlemans is not shown connecting with Postmans, but it does and it was well signposted.
