What is impressive is the engine and auto they are really well matched. 5 years ago it was the only "soft roader" with diesel, 5 star safety, 6 speed auto that could tow 2 tonne, the BMW X3 came close but it was $70K and had no off road credentials but likely a better diesel. Only now is the competition catching up and still 400Nm from a 2.2L is still quite respectable.
The i6 is thirsty go for the diesel, I get about 750km a tank driving around Brisbane city. You should also see better resale, it's why the TD4 is worth a bit more now, there was only $2K difference between i6 and TD4 in new purchase price.
