Mate of mine, son was poisoned in India just a few weeks ago - served methanol. There is no police investigation into the circumstance, it's just part of life and death in India though the authorities were helpful in facilitating the return of the body. Indian undertaker told my mate it's more common than people might imagine.

If you travel in these places be aware everyday things can be a lottery.

Same thing has been happening in Bali for years too, as well as other parts of the world like China, etc.

Life is a risk, and if things like this really freak you out, best not travel in the second and third world.

I'm not saying it's right, I really can't get into the heads of people that knowingly do this to another being just for monetary gain, but happen it can.

    My thoughts?

If he's guilty, its saved the legal systems time and money.

If he's innocent and had a case to prove, he's an idiot....

Someone like that doesnt deserve to live, a waste of air while they are breathing. It sickens me how they could treat a young woman like that! Hang the rest of them!!

    Hello again.

Off the intent of the original thread, but you are half right there.

Africa generally is full of tremendous places to take a 4WD trip and Land Rovers still hold their place pretty well among the options for getting around.

However, rather than drag your own truck across the great waters it is probably likely to be more economic to buy a good one in South Africa and kit it out over there.

Or, better idea - call by a local shebeen and put in your order. Everyone else does ...............

    Cheers,

But then you'll want to bring it back. Once you own it you can't let go.
