    there is NONE, ZERO, ZILCH.
do not believe what the charlatans will tell you.....they will gladly take your money. There is no known allopathic relief from tinitus.....if there was, your doctor would recommend it. My wife is a specialist nurse who trains and guides doctors and clinics in all the latest forms of medicines etc and according to her there is nothing.....she has the best resources available.
Learn to love those crickets and cicadas screaming in your ears....if you dont , you will become an angry and bitter man.
The naturopaths will tell you they have cures....you can spend your money.....they will take it, they will be happy.....you will still have your tinitus.

    Hearing

I've tried everything even noise inducing aids which you wear and they effectively replace the crickets with other less annoying white noise.

Not worth the trouble but DVA claimed that some people have gained a benefit. Snake oil if you ask me.

I just avoid things that set it off, like machinery and always play music when it's quiet.

Good luck with it. If you find something share it.

    G'day Powerband

I got it as a result of a road accident in 1973,was told by the hospital that it would go in a few weeks,I still have it but mine will vary with the changes in atmosphereic air pressure, some days louder than others,i have gotten used to the cicadas in my head, and as I only have hearing in one ear it does have it's drawbacks,I have sort of become able to lip read or take a guess

It will take some time to adjust to it, as from what I can remember it drove me to distraction for several months, more so for me as having to use directional hearing.

Can you type louder, the constant tone in my ears is blocking your words.

Now I'm going to be hearing it all day, usually it's blanked out.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

So that's what that is, I just thought we had a lot of noisy insects around wherever I go, Regards Frank.

Mine comes and goes a bit but sometimes it's that loud I reckon others should be able to hear it! My tinitus is the result of industrial hearing dammage and it usually plays up when I have been a bit careless and not used hearing protection. Thirty plus years of driving emergency vehicles is sure to have had some impact too!

    Cheers, Mick.

Sometimes, if I can't get to sleep because of it, I play a relaxing cd [ pan pipes etc] & often that helps. Bundy works a treat, as well. Not so good in the morning though, Bob

I often meet with people who have significant hearing impairment and several have claimed to have had success treating tinnitus with cranial osteopathy. Ask the osteopath if they have had any experience treating tinnitus before you visit them. I just live with it. Comes and goes, loud or soft, no rhyme nor reason. No cure AFAIK.
