I am inclined to agree with you!
I don't know if you have the Ford "Exploder" in your part of the world, but the styling looks very blurred between it and this Rangie.

Surely, Land Rover has been bitten by a zombie and now stumbles around like all the other soul-less vehicles.

Did you not also read of the wretching out of our beloved's heart:twisted:

A Range Rover, whether it be the dinki-di Range Rover or it's little brother, a Range Rover without a V8 :(:mad:

Hell freezes over. A Range Rover's heart is a V6:eek:

That link is quite a surprise and an eye opener. I was unaware that the Explorer was still made. The last one available here was in 2002 and the model run available [1996 to 2002] was a vehicle I had a lot of time for but never managed to own one. It was a distinctive and readily identifiable car in its day.

Looking at your link I can certainly see the resemblance between the new RR and the current model Explorer.

Yes the Exploder stumbles on!

It got a bad reputation a few years ago for bursting its tyres out and killing the occupants. Mostly with role overs since it was unstable at speed and during such emergency situations the bloody thing would flip on its side or end up on its roof like a dead dog with its wheels in the air!

A congressional inquiry ensued and Ford (when Jacques Nasser was the CEO) skillfully threw Bridgestone/Firestone under the bus and their Wilderness brand tyres as being the real culprit.

But this clouded some serious axle suspension design issues and weight distribution flaws which was more than a slight contributor. If you know what I mean!

The payload was 800lbs!
But put 4 fat arsed Yanks in it plus the family dog and the design weight was overloaded! AND that didn't include the luggage/jeejaws in the back plus the boat/dingy on the roof all trundling along the Freeway going nowhere at 80 mph on a hot day! Recipe for a disaster!:o

That's the first thing I thought of - a sort of inflated Freelander. I suppose now it's only a matter of time before Land Rover as a company just dissolves into the same lookalike morass as any other car company.
