Me and the wife love me doing the DIDO thing.

8 on, 6 home. Travel in company time.

Nothing wrong with it if you know what you're doing.

In this the kind of FIFO stuff you are talking about

Apparently they are removing injured men in the mountains of Afghanistan. I bet the freedom these guys gave us is all but forgotten with WH&S BS.

Redmont is great, quiet, clean and isolated. Will miss the top feeds here. As for the alcohol.... Can't touch it when on swing being an ESO! The only things Ill miss are the money and the Pilbara scenery. Ya can keep the rest!!
Interesting, who was your supervisor at Redmont, Troy? I am at MAC Supervisor Security & Emergency Management.

I am off to Port Hedland in a few weeks, same style housing, but more fish.

Hey Rick, yeah I have been past it a couple of times when back in Newman. Hope you enjoy Hedland. I liked living in Newman, just with better housing you would not get people leave.

Funny that, it's the same here and it's not a mining town, but the crappy housing is usually the biggest problem.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

One of our sons has just started FIFO 2 on/2 off out of Brisbane to western Qld in gas mining, living in a company camp. Seems pretty happy so far. The DIL has a medical job which is only found in capital cities so she has to stay in the city and FIFO was the only option for them.
Their only debate about it so far is whether to start a family or buy a Jeep!

Sounds like you have few pigeon holes, or maybe just one.

Not all are scum, bastards or there for the money.

The upside is, in time this will be a personal realisation.

    Andrew
