If the ladies want to fight on the front lines, all the best to them. I am all for equal oppurtunity, but I wonder what the head line would be when a early staged pregnant female soldier is bayoneted in the stomach by an enemy soldier?

That's ok , mate, I've barely come to terms with the concept of copy & paste. I started my school life with a slate , & made my own ink. Point taken, though, Bob[ ps, I've fixed it up a bit, just for the more mature amongst us]

    Hi Ausfree

The same could be said of people who quote an entire volume of said text.

Yes it is awkward sometimes but not as bad as those who write screeds without so much as a capital letter or a punctuation mark.

To one of your comments about being politically correct, it seems to me that comment is only used when people don't agree.

Stopping racism is being politically correct unless you happen to be the ethnic minority discriminated against.

The earliest printed reference that is unambiguous in it's use of 'politically correct' in its current commonly understood sense is Toni Cade's The Black Woman, 1970:
"A man cannot be politically correct and a chauvinist too."

There is and no, its not the same test the female version of all fitness tests is on average a ball park of 30% easier some aspects of some tests are better than 50% easier

There are barrier tests for everything male or female, if you're not capable of passing the barrier test and its quite simple, you dont pass and you don't get the job. Unless your female (or some other minority grouping) and can play the discrimination card.

I've been personally over ridden in the decision to fail a female off of a drivers course because she couldn't undo the wheel nuts on or manhandle the spare wheel on a unimog as part of the basic drivers requirement to change the tyre. Oddly 2 blokes were canned off of the same course for the same reason, the difference, apparently I was discriminating against her.

There were further repercussions to this later on where 2 reccy mechs nearly lost their employment over their attitude towards a driver on recovery task they were sent out on.

Personally I find it hard to contemplate women, a wife, a daughter etc in front line combat. Admin and rear services yes , Combat? NO! To choose a person to fit a position solely on the fact that " We need diversity" or " Perseved Racism" or "Political Correct" Is stupidity of the highest order!
To say but the russians had women in front lines fail to understand that to sexually associate with a female soldier in the Soviet army meant being SHOT! The same Commissar that ensured , by shooting you if you didnt, You followed the man in front with the rifle and 5 rounds ( That you had to pick up and use when he was shot) against a German machine gun was also the same man who enforced that rule.
I dont see that happening today somehow
