You see these things fitted to Falcon & Commodore Utes in and around the outer Brisbane area,I am aware of several in the Caboolture/Morayfield area.
Saw that one on Warren beach too over Easter so we must have crossed paths somewhere. Heard they later recovered it with the help of a 4WD tractor from Northcliff.
Discotwinturbo has some more pictures of the damage underneath after the sand had been dug away a bit from the front. I'm sure they will find their way on to AULRO eventually.

I can't see where it would have got airbourne from to land like that. I'm wondering if it was some kind of recovery whoopsie. Like being dragged by something when the front wheels were locked? (Front wheels working like a sand plough and not enjoying the experience)
No. The guy was driving at night and served sharply to the left for some reason and droved into a washed out step about 800 mm high which was hidden from view because it was not in his light beam.
He was launched into the air. When you looked behind the vehicle there are absolutely no tire marks. He landed about 4 - 5 metres past the wash out. The passenger was thrown into the windscreen. You can see the impact point on the windscreen, it's smashed.

I went out to the car tonight (at the Hotel here) and parked next to me a Landcruiser fitted with a bullbar just like the one in the picture above. It's on NSW rego.
My question is, where in NSW would you really need one of those?![]()
The guy has enough money to buy a Land Cruiser.... he obviously has enough money to buy a stupid bullbar that will wreck his front suspension and ruin any resemblance of handling that he had.
Good on him I say.... what a dooosh.
