Oh What A Feeling ........................

At 120 and right on the LHF corner it wasn't hard. 2 x new guards, new bonnet, new bar (2nd in < 1year), new grille, rad, condensor, LH door, UHF antenna, radiator support etc etc.

9 months after a nice sub continental lady t-boned it and bend both radius arms, every steering link, diff housing, steering box sector shaft was TWISTED along with drop arm, new bull bar. Total 9K all without body damage. Best part was they just gave me a cheque.

Just need the back touched up now and it’ll have a full respray.

I must be "all of the above"

I actually would've loved to pick up a nice, straight old RRC, drop in a Chev and drop the thing with low(er) profile tyres and optimise the suspension for fast road use.

Excellent point to point car for Oz highways I reckon. :angel:

...Some years back I had an idea to fit up the single ratio FF style transfer case and an independent front differential assembly to a Chev Torana hatchback for trackwork/ Targa events. Navara or 720 type with I think 4.10:1 ratio front differential, and the corresponding locked or LSD 9 inch or Dana rear.

Fulltime 4x4 and a decent powerplant would be a hoot:twisted:

Never knew if it was the WA or SA police - but yes - there were RRC patrol cars out there at one time some years ago.

Because, as Tombie said, you'd think LR owners would be open minded folk, but generally, they are more narrow minded, uninformed and innappropriately opinionated thatn people that drive other vehicle

Best one I had, was a dude coming to buy bits when I was wrecking alot of rovers from my old boys, they passed the house yard, noted the tojo troopy, come to the shed yard and asked in a snooty tone, who's is the *tisk* Toyota, I replied its my old boys, *tisk* comes the reply, why does he not have a land rover product, I reply............because he wanted something reliable:D, conversation was short, the man paid for his bits and left

Its likely a good investment for your 90k vehicle if passing from homestead to homestead at dusk, like many people in the outback do
