New Defender = 'The Dogs Bollocks'

Sorry if posted before - just saw this.

    Built in India.

So, a 2.2 litre engine is too large ?

McGovern indicated the same approach would apply to the next Defender, saying: “our engines can get smaller too”.
Say hello, 1600cc and back to the future....

    Series I anyone ?

I think we’ve got something now that is even more relevant and even more desirable, and even the traditionalists will love me for it.
Really? From what I've seen, the traditionalists around here don't like anything until it's been out of production for several years... decades sometimes...

Anyway, I'll be watching with keen interest.

PS. I wonder what price LR will be able to sell dog's bollocks for

Looks like they will de- knacker the dog. Instead of a pit bull, will it be a labradoodle.Any thoughts on the aluminium chassis off road, Bob

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Good point about the finish... Bulls nuts go for about $15-$65 depending on level of bling desired... Dogs bollocks would presumbably be smaller (and therefore cheaper?), but still vary enormously depending on the quality of the finish.

Come to think of it, it's good that McGovern specified "Dog's" other wise it would have meant something else if the animal had been omitted entirely...

Real Defenders will become collectors items...

"However, the next iteration of the iconic British off-roader will also be so distinctive, says Land Rover Design Director and board member Gerry McGovern, that the company is unlikely to preview it via a concept version for fear of it being copied."

    Seriously!!

A 'truck' designed for the US market....

Made in Indya.. to keep the price low. Bet they'll be a packet.

Bags of aluminium cans being delivered to Canned Rover:India...

If you let the tyres down to go off road you will be running on the rims. Low profiles like that will cost you big bucks if you can find AT's or muddies in that size.

The pic is of a DC100 which McGovern has said will bear no resemblance to the 2015 Defender. You can't draw any real conclusions about the spec of the new Defender from the photo.

I've read several recent articles on the new Defender and they keep putting those pictures in. Trying to appeal to a new market is also mentioned a lot.
